Jordan Basin Improvement District

Treatment

Wastewater treatment is an important part of your household plumbing. As discarded water leaves your home through drains and toilets the water is collected through a complex network of sewer pipes that will all lead to a wastewater treatment facility. The current Jordan Basin Improvement District flows to one of three treatment facilities, Jordan Basin Water Reclamation Facility, South Valley Water Reclamation Facility or Timpanogos Special Service District.

The District owns and operates the Jordan Basin Water Reclamation Facility. Here the wastes from homes and businesses can be cleaned to a level that is acceptable to return to natural bodies of water such as the Jordan River. For more information on how wastewater is treated, please feel free to browse this site, or contact our facility for a tour.
